First PeopLeS’ Plaque Installed

We had over 75 people attend We Are Still Here: Oral Traditions and History of the Wappo People, Part 1. If you missed it, or want to learn more, a plaque commemorating the First Peoples of Napa Valley was installed at the north end of the Napa Library. (Under redwoods and near our drive-through book return.)

Part 2 of this series was held on March 10.

We invite you to stop by and view this informative plaque, which includes a map of the Coast Miwok, Wappo, Patwin, and Pomo peoples’ territories.

Teach Truth CA produced the plaque in collaboration with the Mishewal-Wappo Tribe and the Yocha Wehe Wintun Nation.
